The Collection

The Historic collections of Devon and Cornwall Constabulary remain one of the most complete collections in the UK still attached to its Police Force. The South West Police Archive is now stored at The South West Heritage Trust building, Great Moor House Bittern Road, Exeter. Here it is being catalogued and prepared for on line public access. Thousands of photographs are also shortly to be stored and cared for at Great Moor House. The objects are still stored at Okehampton Police Station. The collection holds artefacts relating to the history and formation of Devon and Cornwall Constabulary from the mid 1800’s to the present day.
